• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery Tend

Rotor failure is my guess. (some call it a magneto) Usually though you will smell some electrical smoke when this happens. Just a good reminder to change my own battery.

A discharged battery as a result of charging system failure. As long as the problem wasn't the result of mice chewing on wiring, the extended warranty should help out a great deal.

Talked to the dealer this afternoon and was told that the stator had shorted to ground. NO MICE chewing on the wiring so the extended warranty WILL cover it!!!!!:yes::yes: Will get an oil change out of it because they have to tear it apart. They said they didn't know if BRP would cover the cost of the oil kit......about $70 plus $50 for the deductible. Possibly a charge for the tow.......only about 8 miles.......we'll see. It could be a lot worse!

It will be sometime next week though before it's done. I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN SURVIVE!!!!

Very wise of you, Jack. Again, this is another case that demonstrates that electronic items are powered by smoke, because once the smoke comes out, they stop working! :roflblack:

glad you are covered

Good to hear problem solved and covered. As you said could have been a lot worse. I know it is painful to be apart from her. Hope they get it back to you soon.

That's why Electrical Technicians refer to it as Magic Smoke! I'm surprised that Kalecoauto.com doesn't have containers of it. They could make some good money with that.
