• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery replacement For 2012 RTS??????

RT battery replacement

Due to the totally insane cost to replace the battery in the 2012 Spyders buy the very best warranty one you can find. The labor cost to get to the battery is insane so get it right as possible while you're in there. Online search will locate the best possible one to install. I have not replaced mine as yet but must do it soon too.

:welcome: If you can get four decent seasons out of the OEM battery: :agree:
But I've also heard that Optima makes a very good replacement.

Have to agree..!!

with those on the Yuasa battery. While working bikes for umpteen years have used a variety of batteries but have not found a better one. Whatch the measurment, some of the new ones though lighter and meeting spec, are smaller and you will need to adjust for that or they will rattle around...

replaced mine in the 2012 RTL last Aug. with the OEM. lasted 2 years. Had to have the kill switch replaced as it was shorting out & draining the battery.

1 hour R/R

Pretty easy to get the battery in and out. Like 10 screws, a mirror, a wind deflector. Batteries plus for a replacement, about 100 bucks. Give it a try!

I have to replace the Yusa battery twice in 3 years. They don't last. I even have it on a trickle charger when not in use. I am now looking for another battery.
trickle charger when not in use is Probably why it they didn't last.Batteries need to be run down some or they develop memories. A 5 stage charger is better.
