• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello all, I guess I should've looked into this sooner, but can anyone describe where and how to remove the battery for storage? I cant seem to find my owners manual, and not sure if its in there.

Battery Location

Here is a picture of the battery location. I did not notice how it was held in place but should be simple to remove. You must remove the panels on the left side as well as remove the screws from the inner rear tire panel on the left side. Note when you remove the rear side panel you must disconnect the turn signal wires.

On all of my bikes with gelled or sealed (no maintenance) batteries, I never remove them. I just put them on the charger (Battery Tender or Accumate) for the duration. The lead-acid batteries with filler caps come inside, and are charged monthly.

I just changed the oil and Greased the suspension and now Have a Battery Maintainer connected. No Need to remove the battery. Lots of Maintainers on the market just make sure it maintains not trickle charge it to death. My Spyder is asleep, can't wait till Spring !!

Jeesh! Just looked at mine.
They sure didn't want it to fall out!
 hope mine keeps working for a long time.

No sleep for my Spyder

It's good to live in California, can ride most days in the year. Don't even consider packing it away for winter........
