• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery light flashing?

I have an 08 rs sm5 and I was out for a ride the other day and the battery light started flashing when I was at an idle at a light, battery sat all winter on a battery tender and machine starts and runs fine. I am going to test battery tomorrow but any other thoughts?

If it only comes on at idle it is probably the alternator not sending the minimum charge or too much draw at idle. Do you have other electrical besides OEM?

I would ride around for a while then check the voltage while it is idling in your driveway. Since you have a battery tender, there is a voltage meter adapter you can use to get a reading.

I am with jaherbst and don't think it is the battery. But for piece of mind pull the battery. Have it charged and load tested.

I am going to give it a short ride tomorrow when the weather warms up in the afternoon and if light flickers again I will check voltage and see what it is, I have service contract on it so if it is. Not battery I will drop at dealer, if it is battery is it easy to find replacement? Or is it a dealer kinda thing?

Battery...

You can get your own. Online you can find Yuasa batteries at great prices and they are the best ones I find. Do check the output on your stator to make sure it is not going out...should not drop below 12.7v at idle..
