Battery life

Now that I have the tire dilemma sorted out and considering the bike is a 2015.. I've been doing some research on batteries and I see they are lithium and $200?? I'm used to the sealed batteries for Harley's being $100 or so for a good one. What would prevent me from putting an AGM sealed battery of the same size?? Does the "lithium" component account for the price. I will install my battery tender tomorrow as I just got the bike into my "tiny" garage and under cover. Yes, the heat here in AZ can take a battery out in 2+ years with regularity...

All Spyders are shipped with Yausa AGM type batteries.

Battery maintainer

The maintainer I have and really like is a Schumacher SHMSPC 3.
It has a full digital readout, 3 different connect leads, and a collapsible
hook to hang it on your handle bar.

Dead battery on my 2012 RT

I have a 2015 F3-S that i purchased new in Feb. 2015....
i have 47,000 miles of smile on her, and never had an issue with the battery....
i keep a BATTERY TENDER on her when i'm not riding...
my JOHN DEERE has a similar battery, and that one is 5 yrs old, again, keeping it on a TENDER....

in early 2013 I bought a left-over 2012 RT in Florida. I then got a divorce and moved up to Michigan. I still have my OEM battery
which was (in theory) on a battery tender. I have been here in Michigan for 5 years and never had a problem.
I had a stroke before I bought the RT and my technical capability is near nil. So I was going to go to the nearest can-am facility which I have used already because replacing the battery is way beyond my capability.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So now I'm confused as what I saw on E Bay was all lithium but I just looked at BRP and they show an AGM.. I will pull my battery tomorrow to see what I have. The lithium makes me nervous with the fires they have started in cell phones and airplanes..

Look at the specifications pages of your operator's guide where it will tell you the model number of your battery. Yuasa batteries have a very good serice history in Spyders.
