• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery Holding Charge

Questions

I have a twenty two month old RTS. If I don't keep my battery tender on the battery it won't start my RTS if left over 6 to 8 days.
Is this about normal for the factory battery in a 22 months old RTS?

Was having the same issue but not all the time. Just added some mods and sure enough my positive cable was loose. :sour:

As Lamont said, check for loose or dirty battery connections (at the battery terminals inside the body panels). Also check for a loose rear frame ground (negative jumper terminal under the seat). Some Spyders developed excessive parasitic loss trough the radio of DESS. You can have your dealer check for those. There is a service bulletin on the audio system, and on the antenna moisture intrusion that can cause it. Beyond that, you would have to fully charge the battery, then test voltage the morning after you remove it from the charger. You may have to do this test with the battery disconnected if you have audio system or DESS problems. A voltage less than 12.7 volts after sitting for several hours indicates a bad battery, and time for a replacement.

We have auto parts store here and they can check batteries condition for free. I hope you one too in your area, good luck:yes:. Don't forget Lamont's advice too.
