There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thank you .... Yeah, I plan to put another Battery on it maybe tomorrow, but I am not really up to riding, it has been a rough 9 months. I'm better than I was in Jan and Feb, but... just not up to riding. I just want to say Thank You to All my friends and all the special folks on SpyderLovers! Thank You All. :bowdown:

Again, how old is the old battery? Maybe it just needs a good charge!! If you have just been going out in the garage and starting it, thinking you're doing the bike some good and making yourself feel good, it's not enough to get a full charge back in the battery by doing that, you need a full ride! Good Luck no matter which you do! :2thumbs:

I put the new Battery on my Spyder little over a year ago... But yes, you're right I'm pretty sure it went Dead because the bike had not been out of my Garage in 9 months. But yesterday, after I got the seat up and checked the Battery with Volt/Ohm meter, I put it on Battery Charger..... Never really helped it at all - the Battery is History! But don't matter if I am up to it today or not, I plan to change the Battery; and make sure it's Charging and all that....... Thanks for your advice. :2thumbs:

So glad that you got the seat up and now you can check on battery etc. Wishing you the best on your health issues. I am a 16 year survivor of prostate cancer myself so I know what you are going through. Hang in there, it will get better. Hopefully you will be back riding soon.

it's good to hear from someone who has been there & knows what it is .. and I sure thank you Leaping1 & i just noticed you also have a 2011 RT-S NICE ! ... yes I got the seat up and Battery Out... and the Battery has a Dead Cell in it .. and when I am up to it I plan to put another Battery in it . might be a few days, but... I will get it . Thank You Again

Sometimes it may take a day or so on a slow charge, that's the best way! If it's taking any charge at all don't give up on it!! They're too darn pricey to just give up if it's only one year old; just keep an eye on it and watch your meter, let it eat, you may bring it back to life; then have it load tested, that will tell you if it's toast or not! But if you got a lot of cash in your pocket, then just dump it!! Good Luck!! :cheers:

Well, I don't have a lot of Cash in my pocket! LOL ... But I could buy another battery, but been thinking I might take this Battery back to the Spyder dealership where I bought it ... There might be some kind of warranty or something, who knows? I gave about $150 for this one in March of 2023, and I only rode the bike from March till Sept. So I might be able to get something off a new one. .. Gonna rain for days they say, might be a good time to drive up there and check.

It's always worth a shot, but IIRC, from other posts here, I reckon you'll find the warranty on Dealer supplied batteries for Can Am On-Road machines over your way is only 6 months from purchase... :banghead:
Still, maybe the dealer will look after you, there are some good dealers around! :yes: Here's hoping they'll help; & if not, that a good slow saturation charge will revive the battery you've got! :cheers:

It's a pretty big servo that is used to set the park brake. These things are power hungry and that's why there are so many battery issues.

I sure think you're right about these Spyder's being Power Hungry, mine sure killed a new $150 battery in Nothing Flat!

I kind of figured as much. I was telling my wife pretty much the same thing about the bike being power hungry. A lot of electronic demands on the battery. A bike like this should have come with a car battery in my opinion. It's not like there isn't room for it.

No, I was born here and lived here all my life - 73 years so far.... LOL .... And yes, one great ride here, which I have done many, many, times over the years is The Blue Ridge Parkway. I think there are like 469 miles of it, and a Zillion Curves, and a lot of Tunnels. It runs all along the tops of these Mountains. Hhighest point on the Parkway is just a little over 6,000 feet - clean air, beautiful trees, and Mountain Tops. Beautiful place, you should ride up sometime and ride the Parkway
