• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Was putting on a receptical plug for my battery tender today. When I went to hook it to the battery the screws were loose. I could turn the positive with my hand. Might be a good idea to check them. Not hard to do. Would be bad if something happened out on the road!:yikes:

And it does happen quite often to people on the road and at home, Spyder won't start and it is because of loose connections. We should probably put it on our pre-trip checklist.

Battery Connections

Mine was weak starting so checked the battery connections and were loose. Were snug a few weeks before when checked so good idea to check them especially before a trip.

For sure..!!

A bit of dielectric grease is wise as well. Dry connections can corrode and weaken the conductivity. Thats why when checking if the connection is tight it is best to loosen it move the cables then retighten them...

I bought a new BMW R1200GS in 2010 and it died the first night I had it at about midnight out in the middle of nowhere. After about a half hour I found the loose battery terminals.
