Any body ever use Solar Battery chargers on your Spyder?

Be sure, whatever you do, that you get a battery charger that is SPECIFICALLY designed to handle AGM batteries or you'll ruin your Spyder battery and get a very short life out of it.

I gave some thought to trying one... pps:
My concerns over the panel's ability to deliver a steady and metered charge to the battery made me pursue other options...

I've used solar to keep the batt on a previouly owned Ultralighe plane charged. It was a sealed batt; not sure what type. Plane was in a hanger with no electricity. I made a waterproof box with acrylic top for it and mounted it upright on the roof so as to get maximum sun. Worked extremely well, but I would think the critical issue for you is whether you have a location that will give you several hours per day of sun.

If you have electricity I'd go with a charger. As to type I'm not sure what it takes for AGM's. But I need to find out as well.

I sure hope my Battery Tender is designed for AGM batteries, because that is what is hooked up to BR1 as we speak, and has been since March when I brought him home.

I bought one of these yesterday at Walmart but am not sure if its suitable for AGM.

I took a quick dig at their website but couldn't find much information about AGM batteries and their charger/maintainers...

I did just now and they said it was good for AGM and Gel also.
