• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Please tell me what Battery Heated vests you recommend?

Depending on the temperature, heavy gloves only work so long. Same goes for knees, in my experience. Without electric, you're going to get cold if you're riding distance. It is neat to be riding in sub-freezing temps all warm and cozy with eclectic gear. There is just something special about it. Some great and beautiful riding when it's dry and crisp that most never experience.

I see you are in Maryland. But your picture looks a lot like East Tennessee.
The terrain is very similar once you get west of Frederick where I live. I am lucky enough to live right next to Gambrill Park and can be on top of Catoctin mountain in less than ten minutes on Hamburg road, once up there the Valley opens up with options to head any direction I want away from traffic.

I don't head south or east too much due to DC/Baltimore traffic unless its my late night summer runs to where I grew up in Arlington,Va. to have some Mario's Pizza, been going there for over 50 years since my parents took me as a child. I also like to make a run or two by the beach in the summer but I don't usually stay as the OC cops can be very aggressive at times so I just usually pass on through. Plus OC has gone to total crap but I enjoy the beach air and breeze coming off the ocean and can be there in under 3 hours when I am riding alone.

It's one of the nice things about living in North Central Md, I can go 2 hours in any direction and have my selection of terrain/type of riding that I want do. Whether it be city/country/flat/hilly/ or along the ocean. It's like having my own version of outrun and selecting my track .LOL

Whatever brand you select, get the type that works off the spyder's battery, not a stand alone battery. Run your heated gear directly off your spyder's battery with a fusible lead and a larger gauge wire than what BRP uses for their instruments. Also, I'd recommend skipping the vest style and go for the full jacket style. You won't be sorry.
Couldn’t agree more, 2dogs. No worries about making sure your portable battery is charged before heading out, or how long it will last. There is also no issue if you forget to unplug before dismounting. The plug is designed to pull apart easily in most models (and it does... don’t ask me how I know! 😆)
