Battery Access 2012 Spyder RT

I had the seat that came with 2012 Spyder RT replaced with one by Corbin which included passenger backrest and arms. Ive left my bike untouched for too long and the new battery needs recharging. I cannot figure how to get the seat up to get to the battery. Putting the key in ignition, holding while turning right isnt working. Does the Corbin seat have something to do with not being able to acess the battery??? Help me please!! ray:

You should be able to lift the seat just like you did with the OEM seat. The Corbin is a lot heavier though. Try pushing down on the seat while you turn the key that may release it for you.

Please get the hay down where this jackass can eat it. Are you turning the key clockwise or counterclockwise? If you're turning clockwise SpyderAnn's explanation is probably the reason and you need a stronger gas shock.

Welcome to the ZOO, While pushing down and turning the key to your right, lift the seat up, the corbin seat is heavier than the stock seat and may not come up by itself. If that don't work, Press down on the seat while you press down and turn the key and then pull up on the seat. And don't mind JayBros, he just needed a snickers cause he ain't himself when he is hungry :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

My sincere apology to anyone I may have offended when I was referring to me, myself, as the jackass with absolutely no intent to insult the original poster. My sole intent was to ask for clarification on the way the key was turned. One can search SL and find others who have asked the question why their seat was not coming up when they turned the key only to find they were turning it in the wrong direction -- a way in which I myself have admitted turning it in a rush and wondering why the seat didn't pop up.

The more you work it out the easier it will get. Good luck. Turn the key clockwise and hold it down and at the same time wiggle the seat until you unlatch it.
