• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. We are traveling from Baton Rouge to Newton NC. We are leaving on Oct 20 Wednesday. We will be traveling thru Atlanta. We are riding the RT up there to pick up a RS for the wife. I left her along for a few minutes at Thunder on the Coast in Panama City Florida and that got me a trip to North Carolina to pick up another sypder for her. She can't wait.
If anyone wants me meet us along the way we would love the company. We will arrive in Newton on Thursday evening or Friday morning. We will then turn around and head back home for work on Monday.

It is about 800 miles one way.
Looking forward to meeting a few other spyder owners.

Thanks,
Gene and Rhonda

I take it you are going to be following I-85 from Atlanta to NC. That is on the other side of the state for me, and the timing may not be right at all since I will have just gotten back from Daytona on Sunday. Let us know what route, and approximate timing, and I will see if I can work something out to ryde with you part way. I wish I could guarantee it, but there is no chance of that right now.

Plans have changed a little. We are leaving on the RT Tuesday afternoon heading for Tuscaloosa, Al for the night. We will leave there Wednesday morning early for arrival in Gatlinburg, Tn Wednesday night. Thursday morning we will head for Newton, NC to pick up the Spyder then back to Gatlinburg for the night. Friday we will start heading back to Baton Rouge.
The wife is real excited to get her own Spyder. It is an 09 RS, red, she can't wait.
It should be a real nice trip each on our own spyder. She has been driving the RT but wanted her own.
We welcome anyone who wants to ride along.

Sounds like that may be a little more manageable for you and her ryding separately. Best of luck on your journey to pick up the new Spyder.

yes much better route. I was not sure I wanted her to venture into Atlanta traffic.

Gene, That's a much better route and if I had to travel through Atlanta again, I'd want be in a M1A2 Abrams Tank, rather than on a Spyder.:roflblack:

Enjoy your new route and Rhonda, enjoy your new ryde when you get it back from Gene. :D

Sounds like you will be rolling through Chattanooga this week. My new Spyder is in the shop, but if you have any problems, or need assistance finding a reliable dealer for service in this area, do get in touch with me...

Picked up Spyder in Newton, NC Wednesday evening as planned. Thursday rode thru Cherokee around 3:00 then on to Sweetberry bed and breakfast which is a few miles past the Harley store at the end of the dragon. OH took 28 south instead of 28 north. which means by the time we figured out we were going in the wrong direction it was getting late. We hit Deals Gape store around 8:00 pm. That meant that my wife who had just picked up her spyder had to ride the dragon at night. It was not to bad since we had never ridden it during the day. Woke up Friday and headed back down the dragon. I think I liked it better at night when you could not see the drop offs.
Anyway we rode 2110 miles since 7:30 Tuesday night. She rode about 1100 miles on the way back. She did great. I was proud of her. Both Spyders rode great, beautiful weather, no rain. We will be back.
