• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Baker Built Belt Stabilizer?

Belt t,ensign

I looked at after I wrote to baker Bilt asking where it was on the web. The design looks flimsy when compared to "Smooth Spyders" design. But to this day I have not acted hoping some else would and report on it

I had one installed at Spyderfest after getting some increased belt-slap with the trailer on my last couple trips to Pitbull's down in Springfield. I usually set the cruise at about 8 mph over, and going up & down the hills with the trailer on, it gets rather noticeable when pulling up the hills through the harmonic zone.
The first little while after having the Baker unit installed, I could hear a bit of a whine, but I think that was just the sealed bearing settling in, as it disappeared after 20-30 miles.
As for the vibration - I've only had the trailer on from Springfield to Kansas City, and didn't notice any at all...and haven't noticed anything since - even at speeds and rpm's where I've had it before.
It's a solid unit, and my only concern will be how long the dampening spring unit will last as compared to the rotary spring type like the SmoothSpyder.
I'm a happy customer - the vibration is gone, and time and miles will answer any other questions!

I also had them install one for me at Spyderfest (took a little longer than 10 minutes, but not much... lol)

I used to have a harmonic vibration at around 74 mph 5500/rpm

affter they installed the belt tensioner, I went out on the Highway and NO MORE VIBRATION!

great product - 2 thumbs up!!!!:2thumbs:

I have the Baker Built Belt Stabilizer and have found it to work very well dampening the belt vibration between 5500 & 6500 RPM.
Super simple installation, uncomplicated design works well. What else would you want?

KYSPYDER

Is this the one that mounts to the rear shock mount? I saw one at SF but couldn't remember which booth it was.

Thank you all for the responses.

I was going to ask the same question this morning

Mine was just delivered last week before I headed out of town. With rain forecast all week, it looks like I will have time to install it. Anyone know the torque for the shock nut when I put 'er back together? Instructions just say, "tighten". Thanx!

Finally got around to installing them, with the help of a mechanically talented friend.

The stabiliozer went on rather well, though getting the belt adjusted was the only hiccup. and that will be different for every owner.

In the 3 days I've had it installed, no vibration at any speed (that I've noticed).

Just as an FYI, 2013 owners should not assume they will need this. Might but the 2013s run a MUCH higher belt tension than the earlier bikes. Changes the harmonics of the belt and likely well above operating range.
