• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Baker Built Air Wings / Middle side panel

Would like to install these air wings on RTS but concerned about double face tape attachment to chrome piece of middle side panel. Anyone with any experiance with these, and how did they work when you had to remove panel to check oil. It does seem like they would provide some insurance against lossing the panel on the road. Double face tape attachment concerns me though looks like it would break loose when removing panel. Top bolt attachment seems like it would be solid and removing one bolt to check oil I can live with, Even 2 would be OK if there was a way to bolt the bottom easily or use industrial velcro on the chrome instead of tape.

Maybe I'm not understanding this. Is it just the one bolt that has to be removed fastening the bottom of the wing to the small bracket that fastens to the chrome piece with double face tape that has to come off to remove the panel and the top bolt stays as does the upper bracket and wing assembly itself??:dontknow: In other words when removing the panel only the small lower bracket remains attached. I've even confused myself now.

To remove the panel to check the oil you only need to unfasten a single bolt. I have ridden several thousand miles with the double sided tape holding the air wing bracket to the chrome can am piece. I too had initial concerns about this set up, but time has proven my concerns to be unfounded. The tape holds the bracket just fine.

Thank You - Is it the bottom bolt or top bolt that you remove?

It's just the top bolt that has to be removed. My Air Wings were installed at Spyderfest and I've only removed a panel once so far. The mounting tape on the chrome piece seems to be very strong. I guess only time will tell.

Sounds more encouraging, do you think they work as advertised to both bring air in or block air out ? Getting close to pulling the trigger.

Careful you don't shoot yourself in the foot .:roflblack: I saw Northstars and they look top notch and he was pleased with them so I ordered a pair and I'm quite pleased with them .

I'll watch my aim :roflblack:

What did you guys buy, clear or tint, they even have spyder etchings available for a add on price now.

I got the Spyder etched ones on dark smoke at Spyderfest.. Removing the top bolt has worked fine with no problems and I absolutely love the results.. They make riding in hot weather much more tolerable.

Doc - Sounds great any chance you could post a picture of them? Would certainly like to see yours. My RTS is red thinking of the dark smoke also with the etching but undecided about the fill color. Red fill would look good I think if their Red fill color is close to the 2011 RTS Red.-- Thanks RedFox

They definitely work as advertised by directing air in in hot weather and deflecting cold air when necessary.
