There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Baker Built Air Wings for the RT - Update

NorthStar

New member
Baker Built sent me some pictures of their prototype Air Wings installed on a Blue Can Am Spyder RT.

My attempt at capturing the pics off of the pdf file sent to me resulted in a drop in resolution, but they should be clear enough to give those interested an idea of what they are working on. There were a few other pictures of a digital thermometer attached to a person's right boot to demonstrate the drop in temperature when the wings were deflecting air onto the riders legs/feet etc.

Anyways, this is my latest info about the soon to be available air wings for the RT.

thanks but IMO it takes away a bit too much from the looks of the RT... hmmm guess wait for other solutions

It is an option though... Where I live the heat never really became an issue this past summer. (It only got to 105 in the sun ) For somebody who's pounding through unyielding heat day after day it could be a real ridesaver!

These 2nd generation clear ones do not take anything away from the look of the Spyder. Granted these are installed on my RS but the only difference is the hardware used between the RS and RT. The wings are identical.

Amazing air deflection!

If you have a chance can you give some details of how they connect to the body or frame. Thanks in advance. Lonnie

Do the Air Wings have to be removed to allow removal of the body panels necessary to check the oil (left) and coolant (right) on an RT? Thanks.

1 bolt needs to be removed on the top of the wing due to the tape on bracket that is attached to the Can Am chrome piece on the panel. It is a 7/16 bolt and comes off in a few seconds, no big deal.

The top mount is attached with a bracket that is mounted on a bolt under the panels on each side. No additional holes to be drilled or panels to remove. The bottom bracket is attached with tape to the Can Am chrome piece. Very easy install and it is very secure.

I love mine. Used the RT-S earlier this week and kept cold air away in morning and allowed for cooling air later in day when got to 80 degrees. Dollar for dollar, a great mod for the Spyder! :2thumbs:
