• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. baker air wings chrome or black fittings?

I'm going to order a set of Baker Air Wings today, been procrastinating for far too long now, so going to get my self a birthday present.

Funny I know, I'm an Ex-Pat from England who's birthday is on independence day, go figure.

I love mods but I want them to look stock, I've seen so many ugly mods out there, but has they say 'one mans meat is another mans poison'

Definitely going to buy the New Generation clear with the new Inner Panel, fingers crossed the clear will match the stock deflectors on the RT.

However I can not decide on either the black or chrome fittings, I know this is personal choice, but I want them to look stock.

I have the lava bronze RT, does any one have a close up picture of the chrome and the black fittings, I only see the pictures of the black fittings on Baker's web site.

Has anyone seen the a RT with the chrome fittings and if so what are you thoughts? are the classy or tacky?

I just installed the clear Wings with black fittings on a red RT. The clear panels do match the stock deflectors. I like the black fittings as there is a lot of black on the bike. I'm sure the chrome would look nice as well.

More chrome is always a good thing!:doorag: I think you have your hands full trying to make the Baker Air Wings look factory........good luck! I have always thought they are for sure "Function over Fashion".

I have a set of chrome ones on order and they should be here Thursday or Friday and hope to pick up my Lava Bronze :spyder2: one of those days as well. I'll take a picture if you have not already made up your mind.

This probably isn't what you're looking for but here is what I have done to the air wings. At the same time I replaced the black plastic hardware with chromed metal hardware both for looks and because the vibration was making the plastic acorn nuts come loose too often. With the metal nuts you can compress the spring washer a bit tighter to hold them in place. To each his own on mods but I think by outlining the edges of the wings with chrome trim, they look less like an afterthought on the Spyder.

I just ordered the chrome fittings, if I didn't do it now I would just find excuses not to do it later.

I will take some pics when installed and post

Those plastic parts serve a purpose. If you have a mishap they will break away may prevent additional damage to your body parts when they strike the wings. This happened to a friend on a GW when he was hit by bicyclist who was passing on the right just as he made right turn. I have not had a problem with my plastic nuts coming loose on my RT-S.

I agree the chrome edging helps them look more at home! Nice touch............

On both mine and my wife's RT the plastic acorns stripped after the first long trip. If something hits the air wings they will crumple pretty fast regardless of what anchors them to the Spyder. I think the two way tape will give way first.

We added the Baker Air Wings with the chrome hardware just before going to Durango on our white RT Ltd. With all the rest of the available chrome that BRP offers already on the :spyder: it looks very nice:2thumbs:. You can never have too much chrome!:roflblack:

Sorry but no pics of the hardware............but it does look very good installed. The piece that sticks on the Can-Am logo is black but that helps it "disappear" so you really don't notice it.

mrfats sent me some pics last night, re-posted here, thanks mrfats.
It won't let me post the 3rd one strange.

glad I order the chrome ones, but wish they had made the black plate chrome that sticks to the can am logo moulding.
