• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Baker Air Wing mod for new air scoops

As we all know the new air scoops for the 2013 heat recall fix make it impossible to continue to use the BRP air deflectors. Well, they also make it impossible to use the Baker Air Wings Inner Panels. I was starving for good air flow onto me since the fix, partly because I have the F4 tall and wide windshield. Here's how I solved the problem of not enough air flow.

I removed the upper Air Wing that is part of the Spyder kit. It is only 1/2 the size of the lower panel. I replaced it with the panel they make for the Goldwing. I ordered the GL1800 replacement wing. I made a new bracket from 1/8" x 3/4" steel bar to provide full support to the full size panel. I reused the hardware from the inner panel and fastened the new panel with the hardware that held the 1/2 size panel. The sketch shows the approximate size of the new bracket. I drew it full size and used it as a pattern for bending and drilling the bar. Cleaned and spray painted the bar.

Very Creative

Two thumbs up for creativity. Looks good too. My father taught me that if no one makes something that you want, make it yourself. He would be proud of you.

Where theres a will....

Theres a way...Well done and looks great. You may be a step ahead of Baker...:roflblack: looks like it does the job. Brp gives you credit on theres so for those with the oem deflectors keep it in mind and remind the dealer.

That part of the recall must be a grease covered ball. My dealer keeps dropping it! :banghead: But I'll keep after them until I get it!

I got my reimbursement today from the dealer! Can you believe it? They sent me a check for $162. Real money, not just a store credit. The necessary forms and how to process the claim are not in the recall instructions. The service manager had to find it elsewhere, but he did, and got it done! I had the clear adjustable deflectors.
