Just had the sway bar installed and rode the RT about 70 miles. Much of this was freeway with a 15-20 mph side wind and a lot of 18 wheelers. I also have Elka's in the front. This bar makes a big difference in handling under those conditions and when cornering in town. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a better ride.hyea::clap:

Cannot help you with that as I had my dealer install it.

You will need to lift the Spyder unless you have a real flat head and tiny arms that will fit under it :roflblack:

I watched Spyderpops crew install mine on my RT, I do remember them loosening the front Tupperware but they didn't completely remove it, had the sway bar, bump skid and heat shield installed. I don't know if it will be different for an RS:dontknow:

I installed mine last Saturday. Just follow the detailed instructions and you won't have a problem. There are also some pictures on another page in this forum.

Also, I purchased a set of car ramps from Harbor Freight for $39.95 and ran the front tires up on it. Gave plenty of clearance. Much more stable than trying to work with a motorcycle lift, IMO.

Ron's instructions also say to remove the 2 lower bolts that hold on the frunk. You do not have to remove the frunk completely.

yes u can im a rookie and I was able to do it without removing frunk loosen the skid and loosen the bottom bolts wiggel it out and install the new one

I drove mine up on a pair of wal-mart car ramps and had plenty of room to work. If you are going to do a RT you will need a 10 mm for the frunk bolts on the bottom (2) and every thing else takes 13 mm good luck.

As easy as the install is, the bar has to be centered and everything secured properly. I wouldn't compromise on something as important as the anti-sway bar. Give yourself room by running the scoot up on some ramps or jacking it up. Lie down on your back with a tool runner handy, i.e. wife or child, and a pair of reading glasses to read Ron's excellent instructions. 45 minutes later you'll be proud of your accomplishment. ...Gnirtsnod

Be careful, these pictures are for an RT install, not an RS install. Though there are some similarities, they are not the same.

You do need to lift the front of the Spyder (but the wheels do not need to be lifted off the ground - IE., car ramps work fine).

You do not need to remove the front trunk (though you can if you want on the RS).

It isn't all that difficult. Take your time and you will do fine.

Texas Hill Country Ride

Just installed Ron's sway bar on my 2012 RT. Took a ride to the Texas Hill Country. I had to get off the Spyder now and then to make sure I was riding the same bike!! What an incredible difference!! This bar makes the bike stick to the road like never before. It's the best money you will ever spend on your Spyder!!

All I can say is, I'm glad you like it!

Personally, I do not think there is a visually less impressive product for the Spyder on the market. When you open the box I have to believe that most customers think, 'You've got to be kidding!'. I've had customers say as much to me.

Admittedily, the 'RonBar', as Bob so eloquently named it, is underwhelming in the box. But on the Spyder it has made well over 1,000 friends and converted a fair number of skeptics!

Again, I thank this great group of people for helping me make this happen. I hope to do the same thing for the 2013's.

Ron's swaybar install directions were great. Put mine up on a set of car ramps. Very straight forward, highly recommend the bar.
