There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. BajaRon Sway Bar and Warranty

I have read the many posts extolling the sway bar, which seems like the thing to do. I have a 2013 RTS SE5 and am waiting on the 2013 bar to be available. However, I have never seen the issue of whether the addition of the sway bar would affect the BRP warranty. Section 1(4) (Scope of the limited warranty) provides that the warranty would become null and void if (4) the Roadster has been altered or modified in such a way so as to adversely affect its operation, performance or durability, or has been altered or modified to change its intended use. Has anyone seen any information regarding whether the addition of the BajaRon sway bar affects the warranty?

Let's see..!!

your question is your answer.. It does not do any of the things that null your warranty..when installed, as per instructions, it is an improvement on the OEM sway bar. To my limited knowledge there has never been an issue in this reguard. But I leave the confirmation to the big guns...!! :ohyea:

Warranty

I realize that it could be argued that the sway bar does not affect performance. I guess my question should be addressed to BajaRon or to BRP, but I thought I'd see if it had ever been addressed before. Thanks for your thoughts

Or just in case, keep the stock one and swap it back if a dealer gives you any hassle.

The big misconception that many people have with a warranty issue is that any modification or use of a non-OEM product (like oil) will void the warranty in its entirety. This is simply not true.

If, for example, you decided to use another brand of oil, filter, spark plug, tire, etc., the manufacturer MUST prove that a warranty covered failure was due in full, or at least in part, to the non-OEM item. If the non-OEM item meets or exceeds the OEM specs then the manufacturer has no basis for any refusal of warranty coverage.

But let's say you made a big mistake and used an inappropriate oil and you suffered engine damage because of it. This action, on your part, would void ONLY the warranty coverage for the affected part. All other warranty coverage NOT affected by using the wrong oil would still be in full effect.

In regard to my custom sway bars, I cannot honestly give an iron clad statement because no one has had any issues related to my sway bar to test this. But my feeling is that having the bar isn't going to endanger your warranty. First, I can't think of any warranty item that would be affected, one way or the other, by my sway bar being installed. Nor can I think of any non-warranty component that would be affected.

I can tell you that many dealerships are installing my bars, and to my knowledge have never made any mention to the owner of even a possible warranty issue.

thinking logically (which we all know does not apply to anything....)

PitBull was installing the bars - BRP had techs at Pitbull (one of which had to look at my ryde on the last day because of a foul up on my display)

so...... if there was a problem (again, thinking logically....) wouldnt you think one of the BRP techs would have said something to someone?

(Mr Spock.... transport some place else.....:joke:)

Ron, Your answer is satisfactory to me. I only wanted to know if the issue had ever been raised. I plan to order one as soon as it is available for the 2013 RT. Thanks.

I hope to have the 2013 RT Sway Bars ready by mid June. My test pilots will be installing prototype bars this week and I should be getting feedback soon. I could be shipping them out tomorrow but I'd rather get it right than get it fast.

I don't want my customers testing my bars, I want them enjoying my bars! :ohyea: Hmmm.... now that I think about it, I'm not sure that is two different things!

I appreciate your patience.
