BajaRon anti sway bar

I have a BajaRon anti sway bar on my 2013 RT. I am dealing with a local dealer on a new 2015 RT. Part of the negotiation is to transfer sway bar. They eyeballed it and said that the sway bar on the 15 was the same as the Baja on my 13. After all that, did Can Am change the diameter of the sway bar on the 15's to match the Baja? Thought I would ask before I took the time to get my calipers out and drove over to the dealership I thought I would ask. Thanks in advance for input :sour:.

It will swap. As long as you are going RT to RT, the bars are the same from 2013-2016. Install is quite a bit different. But the bar kits are the same.

ENJOY!

I don't think that is what the OP was asking. I believe he is saying that the dealer is telling him that the stock sway bar on the 2015 is the same as the Baja Ron sway bar that he installed on his 2013 therefore there is no reason to switch from the older bike to the newer bike. The OP is looking for confirmation on this statement by the dealer.

Thanks all. Contacted BajaRon as suggested here and he answered the question. Though the bars are same diameter there is a difference in the tensile strength thus the BajaRon has more "support" then OEM. I should have just contacted him in the 1st place but had a brain fart. That question answered, I will be picking up new 15 RT :spyder:soon :) .

No BRP did not change the sway bar on 2015 RT.
I bought a new 2015Rt in April 2015 and bought a BajaRon sway bar and links. The OEM bar is thin and the links are plastic. Donr let them fool you.

AHHhhhhh! You're Right! My Bad! :banghead:

As far as ANYTHING a dealership tells you, 'Trust but Verify' is a good motto. There are a lot of good dealerships out there and it doesn't take long to know which ones you can trust and which ones might be talking out of the side.... Oh well, you know what I mean.

Here is a list of the different sway bars for each of the last 4 years of RT Spyder models (According to BRP).
2013 RT Bar Part # 708201544
2014 RT Bar Part # 708201544
2015 RT Bar Part # 708201544
2016 RT Bar Part # 708201544

The Stock Can-Am Sway Bar is a smaller diameter than my sway bar. You don't need calipers. Just hold one of each in your hands.

So as you can see. The person you spoke with is 0 for 2 on this subject. :ohyea:

Just to set the record straight. And not saying anything against you.

The stock sway bar and my sway bar are not the same size. What I meant to say in our conversation was, that my bar uses a different steel compound which would make it stiffer than the stock sway bar, even if it were the same size.

A 5/8" open end wrench will fit loosely over the stock RT sway bar. It will not fit over my sway bar. A little bit goes a long way when you are dealing in sway bars of this length (short) and diameter (repetitively small).

But I must say that I don't need to jump into these sway bar discussions much anymore. As many of you know as much about the subject as I do these days! Really, an amazingly sharp group of people! And I do appreciate the help!
