• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bag mods?

retread

I've been wondering about a way to increase the volume of the RT saddlebags. I'm not sure if it's an original idea, but, what if the hinged part of the bags was made deeper? Same hinges, same latches, same profile, but around 2 inches deeper. Can it be done?

BMW does it by selling different depth lids, if that's what you mean. It works well, but is not chaep or easy to accomplish, needing new molds to make the deeper fiberglass or plastic lids.

Extensions..!!

if you found someone good they could cut the lids and add an extension like a chrome strip...depending on How much room you could just get a trailer...:roflblack:

John,

It might be easier to add a rack to the rear trunk and get a specific shape bag that can be attached to the rack.

How much extra room were you looking for?

BTW, I like the possibility of deeper lids that could come from BRP like BMW or Honda (NT700V) offers.

Trunk rack, as above would add room. I like Diamond R. A cheap way to add "room" when it is clothes for travel. Roll each days underwear/socks/tee shirt in a zip lock bag, then squese the air out. Shower time, clean out, dirty in.
Also for travel, if you ask, many motels have a laundry available for a few cents
