• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bad LED Retention rings from Slingmods

Slingmods includes a pair of "can-am ryker locking headlight-retention-rings" to make the H4 LED upgrade 'plug & play'.

The tolerances of their retention rings are terrible. You can see the movement and hear the click of the retention ring. The ring should snap in place.

In addition the Ryker's headlight housings need to be removed to install the driver's side LED. Another strike against this being a 'plug & play' upgrade.

If these LED lights last 2-3 months I'll be lucky. What a total waste of $65.

And to be clear, you purchased the item from Slingmod's, but the piece is manufactured by TricLed. TricLed has awesome CS. Maybe contact them?

I was not impressed with the retention rings either. So far (I installed this summer) they have held up though.

I bought a set of the LED's from SlingMods this summer. On my set the bulb adapter flange was metal (like the stock halogen bulb) instead of plastic. I did not try to use the retainment ring provided in the kit because the stock ring worked fine (just like it did on the stock halogen bulb). So far everything has worked fine and I tested them on a long after-dark ride last night. Much better illumination than the stock halogens.

If you have the metal flange on the bulb adapter try the stock retaining ring.
