• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bad ecu

My F3 was constantly going into limp home mode. Took it into the dealership and they narrowed it down to a bad ecu. They told me that part is back ordered until January 23rd. Ugh!

If I had a dime for every time an inexperienced tech decided the ECU was the culprit....

They VERY rarely fail. When they do, its very obvious when you connect BUDS as they either will not communicate at all or all kinds of odd things going on. The described failure (an intermittent code) does not sound like an ECU failure at all. Not impossible but not likely.

:agree::agree: ….. That was my first thought after reading the OP's issue ….. If your getting it for FREE, then it's not your problem …. if not find a competent dealer …..there is high likelihood the ECU is fine …. thsat Tech - not so much :roflblack:..... good luck ….. jmho ….Mike:ohyea:

Do wonder....🤔

As the ECU processes all the information from all the sensors attatched to it....did they in fact check the sensors...? have any mods or work been done that could be interfearing, they seem to be the ones that fail most often. May be time for a second opinion....:dontknow:

I’m just going by what they told me. Said they’ve tested everything and have narrowed it down to the ecu. Said they took one off another spyder, put it on mine and it ran fine. I’ll lose my-sh*t if I get it back and it goes into limp home mode again.

This is a SAD fact of life - Dealers don't always tell the truth, and Tech's aren't always competent …. This is from Actual experience …. I'm not just repeating something I heard about …. good luck, hope it gets fixed ….. Mike

any chance for second opinion from another dealer?:dontknow::dontknow: if nothing but to decrease the chance of a return limp mode. So many sensors & triggers , a loose battery can set off a dozen itself :gaah:
