There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I need an oil change on my spyder f3 before I head to Florida in two weeks. No big deal right call the dealer get the kit done ...... Well I called the dealer in my town and they told me that they had one kit for the se5 and its 72 bucks. I said I have the 1330 6 speed and that kit won't fit my spyder. I was told I was wrong its the right kit because I have the 990 motor. I told him he was wrong and ended the call. I called there sister store 30 miles away and I was told they don't make oil change kits for the 1330 you have to buy each part!!! So I found my Brp accessories catalog and gave them the part number...to his surprise they had 2 in stock. So I asked him if he could ship it to the other store to save me 2 hours and I was told they can't do that. In the past they would ....so long story short I will find another place to get my kit!!

What a sad story. Some dealerships just don't seem to understand the components for good customer service. Suggest you contact Don, the Ebay Internet Sales Manager at Mosites Powersports in PA (412) 376-2300). He appears to love his job and his number one ambition seems to be to satisfy his customers and have fun while doing his work. I am sure that he will get that package out to you before you can even blink and eye. I was very impressed with their prices and his level of service. A much nicer story than the one you unfortunately had to share.

Get everything you need from Bajaron. He is a sponsor and will save you money. Look on front page for contact info.:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

I will go you one better. Local dealer parts guy says the Mustang seat will fit the RT. Doesn't know if it will fit the RTS! :banghead: If it doesn't fit? It can't be returned! :banghead: Tom :spyder:

Sad state of affairs. Some dealers really do the brand a large dis-service, when they don't know about the proper oil change kit or even which engine the particular model of :spyder2: comes with.

Last summer the NtA group stopped at the "wrong" dealer and they did not even know where the battery was located. We steered them right-eventually and they found a knowledgeable dealer--less than a mile from the hotel.

The "wrong" dealer no longer sells or services :spyder2::ani29:. No loss in my opinion.

Harsh Very Harsh

You can't expect every parts person to be knowledgeable about Spyders and all the other makes and models that the dealer sells. Good parts people are the blessed exception, not the rule.

To start a thread entitled "Bad Dealers" was really harsh. Click on the "parts online" on the SL homepage and you can see the same thing that a parts person sees when they look up parts for you. Look up your own parts and then call the dealer.

Just one example from ask team of dealers...I mean 2. I called 2 different ones. Long story short same dealers had my spyder in the shop for 6 months in less then 2 years! Same dealers damaged my spyder 2 times have pictures if you would like to know! I did look up the part for the guy I gave him the part number and they had 2 in stock but he still would not ship it to the store 5 miles from my house! Bad dealer!!

I am in northern Ohio too. What is the location of the dealers in question, I would like to steer clear of them.

Thanks,

Chris

I disagree

You can and you should expect that EVERY parts person at your dealer knows what does and does not go on your spyder. If you sell a product you need to know that product! If you don't know, then go work somewhere else. If my dealer had a parts person that didn't know my motorcycles I would let the owner know and I would expect them to educate that person, or fire them. Call it harsh but after 40 years of selling and managing sales people I know there is no excuse for not knowing your product!

No parts person should be relying on his or her memory for parts or fitment - that is why they have a computer. If a parts person is going to argue about which engine an F3 has, and insist it has a 990, I would (1) tell the business owner and (2) never go there, again.

Ask has 3 locations one in lancaster and 2 on the south side of Columbus. There service department is a jock they will lie to your face and take tour money! I caught them in a couple!! My friend bought a motorcycle from them and the service manager told him it was air cooled ....my friend point at the radiator and said then what is that!!!

I guess Will never really figure out what the deal is with all Can am. dealers and service people because I've heard nothing but bad stuff about most of the ones that even exist. I kind of feel sort of lucky that we haven't had that many issues with a dealer in Springfield Ohio who has been servicing our bikes for two years now. so far so good a few minor slip ups on their part but it's forgivable for the time being
