• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well today I was having a bad day at work. Talks of all of us losing our jobs and such and then i get home and find a great present! My Corbin Seat arrived today. Ordered it Feb 9th and it arrived today!!!!

Since I have been wanting this for a very long time now I decided to go ahead with the install myself. Shockingly enough it was VERY simple!!!! Took me about 15 min to take the old seat off and then about another 45 to get the corbin on. I got both front and rear with small backrest for me and the large backrest for the Fiancee.

The install is strait forward and the instructions are very good however I had 1 problem and am looking for input from others who installed the corbin seat. That problem was the seat latch for fueling. The peg was so far into the seat that it wouldn't even make contact with the latch on the spyder so i had to loosen it quite a bit. First i made a bit loose and then it would stick and not let me release it without putting all my body weight on the seat to unlock it so i kept going till it would take some pressure to open/close but not all my body weight. Did anyone else have to do this?

Oh yea looks great hopefully the weather will be good enough for me to try it out tomorrow!!!!

:congrats: Pics please!! I ordered mine Feb. 3rd, and they're still not here. You must lead a charmed life.:clap:

I'll get some pics tomorrow and post them it was almost dark when i finished the install.

Interesting how you ordered on the 3rd and still haven't gotten it but i did. Did you order a special one? I just got the non heated ghost welt

dont be afraid to unscrew the post on the seat it took quite a few turns to make it right also after sitting on it a couple time it does get easier to release ....:coffee:

I didn't think it would be an issue thanks for confirming my theory :D

If you loosen the seat mount at the rear of the seat, that gives you enough back and forth motion to line the post up with the latch pretty good then tighten the bolts back up very carefully so it doesn't move.

Corbin seats and backrest in 10 days!

I, too, was thrilled with my Corbin seats and backrest after ordering online and receiving them 10 days later! I was prepared for a six to eight week wait but 10 days later, the Corbin box was at my front door. Of course, they are plain black for the yellow Spyder and may have been manufactured already.
I mounted them on a Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago in about 1 hour without any problem. It may have taken less time but I was also enjoying a great cigar in the garage while mounting them. I pressed down on the front seat so it latched then tightened the two back bolts snug. It opened and closed the seat several times and it latched each time although I did have to press down hard. My wife and I are both pleased with her backrest just to ensure that I know she will still be back there. We are planning on a Spyder trip along the Oregon Trail this summer when I take some leave.
Unfortunately, we couldn't go for a ryde that day to try the new seats and backrest because there was still a lot of snow on the streets in Lincoln, Nebraska. Now it's killing me because my Spyder is in Lincoln and I'm at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, where it was 67 degrees today. I plan on going home to Lincoln after I get off duty Friday and getting in a ryde even though the temperature is supposed to drop to the 30s for the weekend.
After mounting the Corbin seats, I mounted the Gremlin bell I received for Christmas and had another cigar. Life is good!
