• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Bad battery ? ( brand new )

Not the radio

went almost 6 mo with the same problem 3 batteries later finally the 3 rd dealer did check the radio module and it was bad. Replaced problem solved. Good luck.

Radio has been replaced along with a malfunctioning relay. The radio circuitry was the first item checked. BRP is supposed to be getting back with them today on ideas or troubleshooting. Tech has put more trouble free miles on the bike this year than I have so far . Attending the BBQ is looking real bleak at this time and one ride I didn't want to miss.

Replacement parts

Got a call from the dealer tech this afternoon. He spent a couple of hours on the phone with BRP performing all kinds of different tests on the electrical system and the end result was.....nothing found faulty. Really disappointed to hear that but then the tech said that after considering the background of the problem , BRP instructed him to replace the charging system as a start . It also means that the problem may be able to be repaired under warranty after my warranty is up ( end of July ).The tech knows I'm planning on heading to the events next week and they wouldn't be able to get the parts on time and have them installed so.....they're taking the needed parts off one from their inventory and installing on mine just to be sure it will be ready for the trip. Now that is what I call " CUSTOMER SERVICE " and I didn't even purchase the bike from them. Well worth the drive time and extra miles to get this kind of service . I hope this takes care of the problem but have to admit that heading out for Maggie & Lamonts BBQ will leave me more than a little nervous.

Finally fixed I hope

Picked my bike up from the dealer at 3PM last Tuesday and rode it home with no problems. They did replace the rectifier and some other parts. They didn't show bad but it's a try. Was a little ( ????? ) hesitant about heading out for Maggie Valley but decided to go for it anyhow . Boogeying down the road in Kentucky , middle of nowhere ,98 degrees , no cell service and no shade and the bike went into limp mode. Saw icons flashing that looked like a slot machine. Babied it along until I could find a safe spot to pull off .Said a few new words under my breath and lit up a cigar. Fortunately the wife wasn't along or she would have never got on it again. Long story short , turned out to be a loose relay so started back up and continued to Maggie feeling quite relieved. Foam padding will be installed shortly.

Made it to Maggie and proceeded to the tech tent to talk with BRP tech about all the problems I had with electrical system to date. Now anyone can say what bad experiences they've had with BRP but mine this time were absolutely wonderful. They put me in touch with a customer service rep who went over the whole sequence of problems . At the end of our discussion she went to the head tech and explained everything to him and they took my bike in and went over it stem to stern looking for any problems .Found none but said he was very confident that the rectifer was the problem and that having it previously replaced solved the problem. Told me to leave it off the battery tender for awhile and see what happens . If the battery goes dead in a short time he said they'll start digging deeper .I felt that everyone from BRP that I talked to honestly seemed concerned and wanted to solve my problem. Nothing but praises to BRP for customer service.

While at Maggie my wife called and asked if I ordered ( another ) battery for that :cus: spyder. I told her no and why was she asking . She said the battery dealer ( Battery Giant ) had called and said they have a brand new battery at the store waiting for me. I had called them before leaving for Maggie and reiterated what BRP had said about starting to charge a battery too soon after filling and how it would reduce the usable life. I haven't had a chance to talk to them yet to see why they're replacing mine but I'm assuming it's because they felt they started charging too soon. Another KUDO for excellent customer service to Battery Giant . Now I just hope the electrical problem has been fixed but not looking forward to wrestling the battery changeout again.

A repaired bike , a new battery and no tornado at Maggie Valley........I should have bought some lottery tickets.
