• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How hard is it to install a backrest for my 2011 RT? I'll have to cut into the seat correct?

Thanks
Rich

What is your skill level ?
I installed two. I think your talking about the Utopia back rest ?
Yes, you have to cut through the vinyl cover of the seat, but the instructions are explicit, and include photos.
With a modicum of DIY skill, you can install the seat easily.
For me, removing and re-installing the seat was more difficult than installing the back rest.

As always, my free advice comes with a double your moeny back guarantee.

:agree: Although I never did it; I got the instructions, and stared at them for a LONG time...
It certainly isn't a difficult thing to do. The toughest part, is getting your hands to stop shaking, before starting to cut the seat cover... Faint.gif

I chickened out, and waited to buy a 2014 RT. I then installed BRP's backrest with no cutting.

i didnt take the seat off when i installed mine. super easy. you can take the strut
loose for more room underneath.

I did it to my 13 RT Ltd. Really easy. Read twice, measure first cut twice and cut once. I took my seat off and did it on the kitchen table in the A/C. Don't forget to stuff a couple rags in the holes near where they hinge. Before I did it I watched the YouTube video of how to change to the Ultimate and just watched the beginning of it regarding removal of the old seat just to get a visual.

The installation is pretty straight forward for the Utopia. Follow the instructions. Plug any openings with rags so hardware cannot fall into the black holes. Measure, mark and review the instructions. Repeat. Repeat again. The hardest part is summoning the nerve to make the cut.

Are you looking at the Utopia? That is what I have with the removable option.
