• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

my bike has started backfiring again arond 3,500 rpm or slowing down. no codes. it is like when it had the new update from the dps. need to know how to fix it fast. it happen when the bike is running 4 to 5 bars on temp

Lots of possible causes- mine does this when the weather is sweltering and super humid- fine otherwise. I also had this when my exhaust gaskets were shot.

I have the same problem in hot weather after my dps update.I have the regular juicebox and when I ride it to work in the morning with temps in 60's to 70' no popping on decel but on the way home with temps in the 90's it returns.
I even did the canisterectory a couple weeks ago and this did improve the drivabilty and smoothness but did not eliminate popping on decel in the real hot weather.From my point of view I think the bike just starts running leaner in the hot weather and this confuses me because my tech told me the Spyder fuel mapping should add more fuel in hot weather and less
in the cooler weather but this does not seem to be the case as when he changed my plugs at the service in April they showed a rich condition
and now they look tan and my exhuast pipe even went from black to tan.
My y gaskets were shot when I took my Spyder in for service so am I right in assuming this fools the O2 sensor into thinking the Spyder is running lean and it richens up the mixture?I did not have any decel popping at this time but was running rich.
I am going to see how others are doing with the Juicebox pro and power commander and may go that route next.(RELUCTANTLY)

I wish someone smarter than me here (which is probably most of you) could tell us what is going on.:chat:

What does this mod actually do? Is it just ignoring the feedback and would this cause a motor issue if it is running lean?

Causes the engine to run a little richer in closed loop, especially good at getting rid of popping and backfireing on decel, not be be used if you install the JB Pro. My JB settings are 1-na, 2-3, 3-2.5, 4-3, 5-.5, 6-3...
 
I guess I'll install the one I have and see how it performs. My only mod is the HMF exhaust.

i had same problem for year and half and tried all kinds of settings tried 02 mod and no luck took it back to stock except 2 bros duals and kn filter just added power commander 5 and wallla problem solvled i have never rode my bike like this it runs SOOOOOOOOO MUCH better. I could not believe the difference. some have great luck with o2mod and jb. Just not me. I swear by the power commander. :ohyea::2thumbs: good luck and happy :spyder2:ing
 
K&N Air Filter in stock air box, Hindle Exhaust, O2 Modifier, and the Honda replacements for the Y gaskets, took away all of my backfiring issues. :thumbup:
 
i have have done y's with honda as well i think my bigest problem was the tw duals had SO MUCH air flow was running super lean on bottom end i tried all setups like i said pcv worked for me. I guess even know these machines are built the same all have hearts and brains all there own.

If you are running a twin pipe on an RS/GS get the Juice Box Pro & install a K&N Air Filter. Then Play with the juice box settings to eliminate any backfiring.
