Been researching this for months. Few really standing out. Each seems to have their pros n cons. Wanting fairly long range bike to bike wireless communication devices. PTT isn't the safest option while travelling on the road. At least a mile or 2 mile range would be nice.

Seems like some of the best options are European and just not available in the US. Frequency platform red tape perhaps?

Collett <-- for sure fits the specks, designed for snowmobilers and a private channel option. Very $$$
Scala and Chatterbox just don't seem to have the legitimate range.
Starcom1 looks promising, so does the Interphone but hard to find real world feedback.

Maybe the best thing to use is just a blue-toothed cell phone. Is there anything out there I've missed?

We gave up using the Starcom1 with the FRS/GMRS radios. The Starcom1 is still our choice for a comm unit, but we just couldn't conquer B2B. Our problems may have been enhanced by our choice of radios. The Starcom1 PTT on the handlebar works well, although if we could have gotten the VOX to work reliably, that would have been preferable. The radio locations and limited antenna length/orientation are probably the biggest drawbacks. Like The Sena and Cardo Scala, these units are line-of-site...and the reliable range is usually much less than the listed maximum range. CB has the longest legal range, but again, antenna options and the lack of a good ground plane on a Spyder reduce the range considerably. Good luck in finding what you are searching for.
