• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

B,U.D.S. ?

BUDS, laptop port, GUI interface, continued?

That's cool! i don't want to re-invent the wheel. I don't yet own a Spyder so I don't have a owner's manual to refer to or the dashboard display. These are just ideas I had. If all of this has already been done, I stand corrected.
Matching an engine picture with an error code pointing to a specific part would be helpful to the owner in troubleshooting. This could apply to the chassis, electronics, suspension, and fuel delivery system. Anybody want to jump in? Lamonster/ Scotty? I hope I'm making sense and don't appear to be rambling. I'm a little embarrased at not having a Spyder yet, but don't give up hope, I'll have one before too long.:D

.....Anybody want to jump in? Lamonster/ Scotty?
:D Don't expect me to jump in that water! I'm an old-time wrench twister, that can deal with electronics, but only on my own terms. Maybe this would be of help to an owner in conversing with or understanding the tech, but for the most part I feel it would be unnecessary for a tech, a distraction for an owner (who could do nothing with the information provided), and mostly technology for the sake of technology. If the error code says "Bad O2 Sensor", the tech knows where to look without a diagram...and he has the shop manual if he doesn't know. :D

Shifting gears.... that statement brings to mind the chopper builder,

Chica i believe is his name. He's a Japanese fellow who builds old school choppers. i like his work. I actually remember when I could work on my own car. Now I only raise the hood to add washer fluid.:roflblack: I take it to the dealer.

Ignorance is bliss

OldDog, I might have a place to download the shop manual for an 08-09 RS. Send me a message.

Thanks so much. After looking through it, I came away with a much better appreciation for this machine.:f_spider:
