AZ Spyder rental

Well..while we are searching for our Spyder RT...we got hooked up with the www.rydeaspyder.com folks,JUST before they move their Phx,AZ rental operation to Denver area for the summer..so tomorrow, we'll snag a red RT-S and do the Payson, Camp Verde loop...lots of good twisties...some interstate on the way back...about 250mi overall...should give us a better idea before we pull the trigger and make the switch from the Goldwing....any AZ area folks wanna go for a ride? leaving Tucson about 0900..departing the Chandler area around noon..back by dinner?

Had a great ride...met w/ Steve...he's the AZ link for www.rydeaspyder.com...thorough briefing before cutting us loose. We headed North to Prescott..had lunch at the old Palace Saloon, then road back..about 250 miles round trip. SO...took about 30 min of freeway to relax the white knuckle grip on the handlebars...the long freeway-speed sweepers still feel strange. By the time we headed back, was feeling way better. Struggled with keeping the left wheel in my lane...perhaps 25yrs of riding in the left track??? and the winds was gusting about 40mph on this trip...2 fillups looks like about 30mpg (2011 RT-S SE5, 20k miles, two up full size adults) so the search for a clean 2011 RT-S or Limited continues....PS the folks at rydeaspyder.com are headed to the Denver area, from now till November....back in AZ after that...
