• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Awaiting the Sport Edition

Judging the jump in design and mods from the GS models to RT, one can hardly awaiting the next member in the Spyder family: Sport Edition. :chat:

BRP knows what they are doing with product development. Ski Doo was first just a simple snowmobile. They then rolled out cushy tour models and high performance sleds. First Sea Doos were revolutionary, but nothing compared to the three up family Doos and arm wrenching XPs that followed their first models and established a whole new market. Jet boats began as small sport boats and grew into a whole line of pleasure and high performace boats. New Spyder models will follow and BRP will establish a completely new market while luring buyers from the two wheeled segment. Stand up Jet Skis and prop driven boats were the norm until BRP decided to redefine those markets. They may be doing the same with the "open road" market.

There's no need to wait. As of yesterday, our Spyders became the sport edition:

The 2010 Can-Am Spyder roadster line-up now includes the Spyder RS (roadster sport) and the Spyder RT (roadster touring) models.

:agree: I bought mine because I thought it looked sporty. In my opinion they don't look or drive slow. Maybe some of you that are hungry for more they can come out with a Spyder RR (roadster racing).

:agree: No matter what is on the market, people will always want more...can't win...our Spyders are fun and quick, but if someone could put in a 500hp engine, they would...so be it...I'm quite happy with the Spyder I have now and I intend on keeping it...it's like a computer...there's always something newer and better coming out...

+1

I would love a sport edition--- faster and bigger engine--- adjustable VSS, etc...

Then my current PE would become my 'touring' edition.

+255!:2thumbs:

Totally disagree. We need less horsepower and less speed...it leads to too many crashes and consumes more fuel, which is bad for the environment. We need to be conscious of one another and do the right thing...less fuel is more responsible and helps everyone else to get their share of fuel too...we should all strive to take care of one another and the world around us...

Always wondered what it'd be like to write some junk like that! :D
