• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

automatic and steep grades?

I have a manual trans in my VW sportswagon that has an automatic hold when the clutch is released on a hill. It also has an automatic downshift when coasting down hill but eventually you do have to shift to the next gear. So I would imagine they would have something built in...

Awesome! I also have a 2015 SEL Sportwagen TDi with a 6 speed manual trans. I love it!

The Ryker has a great transmission. I have to say that it is the best automatic that I have ever driven (other than the annoying jerk on engagement). It really shines in the mountains. Steep grades, up or down. No problem. It seems to sense that you want more hold-back when you throttle down on steep downhill grades. I have been impressed with my Ryker overall. And especially with the CVT.

I had a 1979 Husqvarna 390 dirt bike with 4 speed automatic transmission. Those were the Good Old Days for sure! It was great! Never missed a shift. And the gear was always correct for the situation. Missing a shift on a steep hill climb! You don't want to go there! But it freewheeled. Absolutely NO hold-back. That was hard to deal with. Steep downhills were a major concern with that bike.

Ryker does really well coming down steep grades. The engine has a lot of compression and as RPM drops the pullies adjust to slow the bike down.
