• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Auto Start on 2010 SE5 using Viper 5901 Alarm System

Can someone guide me to a right place or help out my installer. I have a Viper 5901 installed on my 2010 SE5 with auto trunk release but he is having trouble getting the auto start to work. I saw one that was done with this specific alarm and would like to contact that person or anyone to get some ideas to pass it on to my installer. Please email me at [email protected]

Thanks in advance

From what I understand the problem lies with the chip in the key. You would have to find a way to have the key somewhere within range on the bike.

I've not heard of anyone using an auto-start on their Spyder -- and really can't recommend it.

The main reason for an auto-start on a car is to warm it up during the winter or cool it down during the summer-- not sure what purpose it serves on the Spyder.

I use the 5 minute warmup on the Spyder to do my pre-ride checkup.

I'm not sure how you would get by the chipped key and having to hit the "mode" button. :dontknow:

Jokes aside, :agree: The only reason I would see this done is to start the :spyder2: to impress friends and :spyder2: viewers.

The instalation of a Vipor alarm requires a second key with the chip. You also have to use the regular key with chip to turn off the alarm. If you touch brakes the vehicle will shut down with out the second key inserted.:spyder:
