• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone have a Garmin Zumo 665 on their RT? If so, when listening to XM Radio, can you hear anyone talking to you on your CB? My CB will not take precedence over the XM radio on the 665. Everything else works just like it should. Anybody have any suggestions to try?

I don't have the 665 I have the 660 and have used it to listen to MP3 on a memory stick.

First off does this only happen with the 665, can you listen to FM/AM radio or iPod and the CB kick in.

If the CB does not over ride the radio or iPod I would guess the squelch its set to wrong.

If the CB does over ride the radio or iPod then I think I may know the answer.

The GPS system as priority over everything, so if you listening to audio feed, FM/AM radio, can-an XM, iPod or CB and a direction comes up then the GPS will interrupted (either mute or mix) and you hear the directions.

Because the Zumo 665 is playing the XM audio the spyder thinks this is a direction, the sypder can not tell if the audio out of the zumo is a GPS direction or music so it gives it priority 100% of the time.

I was listening once to MP3 on the memory card in my 660 and every time caps in the tracks the FM radio would kick in, soon as the next track played the zumo came through again.

I hope I explained that well enough.

Thats correct, your bike thinks the 665 XM is GPS directions and are giving that device the priority. One reason I switched from 665 back to the 660. :gaah: The other reason was the passenger (wife) controls did not work on the 665. I bought the BRP XM radio and the wife is happy.

The gps audio signal always takes precedence. Doesn't matter if it is a 660 or a 665. Although the 660 won't play XM radio, but it will play mp3 and audio books. If you don't want the sound from the gps (660 or 665) to interrupt other sounds (like CB) then you can mute the gps on its audio screens. You can mute gps directions, music output, or both.

Thanks for the answer. That does make sense. Kinda wish I hadn't spent the money on the 665 now.
