• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Audio System

Oh I think I get it now.. I turned the spyer in today for the 600 miles service, it was a VERY nice day here so it kind of HURT to get it there by 12:00 before the shop closed cause there was so much riding time left in the day, but its there.. I will pick it up on Tuesday after work, maybe Wednesday, oh well,, Hey PLEASE check this out.. I beleive the Sub that I bought for the system has a internal Amplifier, or thats what it says check out the specs on this thing and then BLOW up the picture of the SUB itself,, I have a hard time under standing the discription and the terms being said,, again don't dog me out to much I'm kind of new at this stereo system stuff BUT----If this is the case I do not need to hook up a seprate AMP to this, just power up the SUB and hook up the speakers I order with the AMP right?? On the picture I am not sure what the Line inputs do and the Hi outpu and Hi-low input---if you look at picture it displays these connections good but I do not understand them,, Did I get a better deal than I thought I did or am I mis-understood on the picture?
See Link and try to break it down for me please!!
Thanks to aka 1004 and bjt,, again, this is GREAT information and will come in handy once I get the spyder back and the system delivered,, I WILL pick your brain later on thats for sure but for now could you guys check out the link and again, speaker hook-up on the SUB(Where)? and the Line input???? and is there a AMP in the sub inself?
Thanks guys>

i mentioned this subwoofer was self-amplified in the begining and you will have to run power cable to it along with sound input.
most likely subwoofer will have rca and speaker level input.

best way is to use a electronic cross over to seperate the high and low frequency to feed right frequency to right amp/speakers.
least expensive and easiest way is to tap one of the speaker wire for them 2 speakers mounted on the handle bar and use that for speaker level input on subwoofer. subwoofer will most like have built in low pass crossover to filter out high frequencies so this may work out alright and because of the overall price for this system probably won't justify additional cost for electronic crossover anyway.

for some how-to on mobile sound installation, i believe crutchfield.com have pics and videos on most installations. you may want look into that:thumbup:

Best fuse block on the market

Young fellow you may want to look at this fuse block... research indicates it is one of the best on the market and for what you are getting the price is right.

I think I detect a Scotty #2 on this forum. welcome You will find many posts by NancysToy aka Scotty. By the name, I think you get the picture. It is her spyder and he loves to steal it. From your current comments, I think you two have a lot in common.:D:D

Fuze block

Mmmm,, I really liking this type of system.. Again, there has been some really GREAT info for me on this forum.. Here is my plan right now, (it could change) as this develops but for right now here is my thoughts:

1) Wait till I get the spyder back from its 600 mile service
2) Wait till I recieve the system that I ordered
3) Once I get the system I am going to MOCK it up with my work car, not a full installtion of couse, just a MOCK up.
4) Only hook up the sub with the amp with-in the sub (Power Sub I cause they are called)
5) Hook up just the speakers and NOT the 250 Watt amp I have.
6) Check the sound in the MOCK up version.
7) If this is not doing what I want it to do then I will:
8) Hook up the AMP and REMOTE (On the MOCK up yet)
9) adjust sound and see how much of a differance it is
10) adjust accordely

I have to really see the instructions with the iteams I orders, Sounds like to me there are plenty of options for me to go with, I LOVE the idea of the Fuze Block/distrubution Box and such but with my LACK of KNOWLEDGE in dealing with this type of stuff I'd had better wait.
SO having said all that MO LEE and I have discussed hooking up the 12 volt Plug in recepticles and tapping into the #3 fuze in the panel and going from there, MO LEE has MUCH more experience with this method then the whole Fuze block method so I am going to stick with this for now,, As I develop into other needs I guess maybe one day I will be able to install this FUZE BLOCK, or maybe an overnight stay here at the house from another member can assist me who knows,, ALL I know is that this is the most safes method for me at this time.. Any offers?
thanks and I will keep you updated once I get the system delevered and the MOCK that I plan on doing..
Thank you SO MUCH for all the good info.

Scotty ?

By George, I don't think I seen any post by Scotty... I've only been on here a 3 days.

Anyway, thank the good Lord that there is someone else out there with my type of old time thinking.

Nothing like me aging gracefully.

The system was shipped today, should be here on the 16th according to the tracking number anyway.. I still plan on doing the MOCK up right away and waiting till after the week-end to install it,, a bunch of us are headed to Branson MO on a couple overnight stays, catch a show and yes I plan on driving the spyder.

I'm still here, just a bit quieter than normal. As to aging gracefully, now I just feel old! :D
