• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yep, I got tired of making one off cables for people for free. Too time consuming and it's better to make them in batches. I was hoping a SL supporting vendor here would pick up the ball and get me out of making one off cables.

Anyway I was chatting with Dave a couple weeks back and offered to make them for him so he could provide them as a package deal. BUT if I did, they needed to be more professional and use all the correct parts. This would make it a lot easier for me to mass produce them.

Dave ordered all the proper parts! So we will be using the proper connector, pins, and pin hole plugs just like the BRP cable.

On my one off cables I was using non-standard pins because they could be ordered as singles. The pins worked fine but were not easy to work with. I was also sealing off the back of the plug with RTV to make it water proof. So it was home made looking. These cables will be sealed with the correct pin plugs and look production.

The difference with this cable and BRP's. It mounts to the rear trunk not the Frunk like the BRP setup. Most have found this far superior to it being in the Frunk. Many have had noise issues and disconnects with the SM10 being in the Frunk. It also makes it easier to power on and off, bind, etc in the trunk. In fact some using the BRP cable have moved theirs to the trunk anyway.

Once I get the first cable made up, I will do a install video and work with Dave on instructions. So stay tuned.

Anyway, I am glad to help a SL sponsor here provide you all with a better product!

Hi Dave,

Re: you have all priced the one from BRP the set up from me will be about 1/2 the price,

This what I like about this country; capitalism at its finest.

Good luck to both of you,

Jerry Baumchen

Best news yet for Spyder Owners

Hope you can ship the cable to the UK

Hope it works just like the one Bob made with the
Same functionality

I would like to get one if you can pre order please
add me to the list

Thanks

I have one of Finless Bob's cable and followed his directions for Trunk install. Never had a problem. Works great.

Now if either of you could make a cable that would make that annoying lady stop asking me to "SAY A COMMAND" I would be most appreciative.
