• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just as a test, to see where any excess fuel might end up in the event the fuel nozzle didn’t kick off (common occurrence) I poured a small bottle of alcohol right around the fuel cap area and much to my surprise a fair amount of the fuel poured right on the exhaust header.

While I’ve dumped gas on a hot muffler before when filling up a lawn mower with no fire – it’s not something I would like to test on my bike. As we all know, the exhaust header is super hot when you pull up to the pumps.

BRP needs to address this problem – there should be some type of plastic skirt that would divert any spilled fuel to the ground. If you look at the design there is no place for the fuel to go. There does seem to be a small hole about the diameter of a toothpick - - however mine is closed off!

Already have over filled a couple times and have had no problems. I've never been around in type of motorcycle that didn't have the potential to get over flow gas on the engine.

Well that just it - the Spyder is a bit different than say a Harley, you dump some fuel in closed in compartment that's pretty much sealed with major combustible grasses in there. Hit the starter and if there's a spark anywhere, your coming off the seat and the bikes toast. :yikes:
