• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Attacked!

Life is to short. Woulda, coulda, shoulda is no excuse for not buying a :ani29:. Stuff does happen, but are you going to be the lottery winner. :dontknow:

I have a serious phobia. I can wrestle an armed man to the ground and would think twice about it. A wasp/bee enters my home...I'm leaving..lol The struggle is real. I'll be the chick on the Spyder wrapped in saran wrap...lol:roflblack:

Group ride. I was riding tailgunner. Thought I got hit in the chest with a piece of road debris. But then the burning started. 60 mph, looking down my shirt, bumble bee climbing up toward the collar. Thank goodness it got to the opening and flew off. Nice welt on my left man boob. I zipped the collar up the rest of the trip.

Pretty good story dieselengine9! :2thumbs: Been riding 2 wheels all of my adult life and experienced similar more than once. Worst was one of them sumb****es smacking my forehead above my eye at highway speed then falling down between my no foam around the edge riding glasses and my eye. Trying to haul it down with one eye closed tight as a drum hoping he didn't sting my eye. Luckily he died on impact with my forehead.

Not sure if a wasp or a spyder but....first ride of the season 5 or 6 years ago, get bike (back in those days) started up, put on jacket had been hanging up in garage all winter and went for 100 mile ride. On the way home i felt something up my left sleeve, gave it a swat or two and continued home. That night i had a painful swelling and redness where I got bite....continued to get worse to finally went to the doctor. It was starting to necrosis (rot) in the area of the bite. Quack doctor said it was nothing to worry about...I went home and cleaned up the dime size puss, eaten away area and applied Polysporn with a bandage. Eventually healed up and left a depression in my arm for about 2 years...to this day i have no freckles at this spot and looks white. We had wolf spyder in our garage which can bite if cornered....Rule of thumb always give your riding clothes a good shake before you put them on if hanging up in a garage or out door storage area

:oldpost:

So this spyderlover has a talent for telling a story and grabbing our attention.:D

However he hasn't been on in over a year and has not posted in two years :(

maybe someone should contact him and ask him to rejoin the group?

also in the photo is a blue chip! do you think that is from his blue spyder?:yikes:

I'll be getting a garment bag for my riding gear, for sure, now! And a Sting Relief Stick! Back in the olden days, I got a bee in my helmet and it stung me in the left temple. Glad it was only a honey bee, they only get to sting you once and they DIE.

Reminds of the time I had the whole lake to myself on my Yamaha Waverunner.

I was all by my lonesome, hauling ass at close to 65 mph on the lake that was glass-smooth. I was in an aggressive, racing tuck position doing warp speed when a bee/wasp/stinging insect decides to jam itself between my bare back and PFD (Personal Flotation Device, or life vest). It got pissed and started stinging away. So here I am speeding across the lake, and I'm trying to kill this insect by hitting the back of my life vest with my hand, hoping to crush him somehow. Of course, that doesn't work. In fact, it pisses him off even more.

So what do I do ??

I bail out of my speeding waverunner. I skip across that lake not unlike a flat stone you would have thrown to see how many times you can get it to skip as a kid. Of course, he's still plunging his stinger into my back, so I just rip off my PFD. When he finally took mercy on me, I look around to see where my Yamaha is.

It was a good 50 yards away !!

Insect - 1, Me - 0.
