Picked up a new F3 Limited last Friday. Seat is very comfy, but leather makes me sweat! Ordered a sheepskin seat cover from Alaska Leather. How do I attach it to the seat since the seat is fastened down?

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The seat does not come off easily. You need to remove the side panels and rear seat to get to the bolts so using the seat itself as a locking mechanism would be time consuming. I would take off the seat just once to run elastic strips under the seat and use these as a removeable anchoring point. This way you could secure/wash the monkey butt pad from time to time without effort.

Just so you know that seat is not leather! And congrats on that beautiful machine! Whatever you do.......don't ugly it up with a sheepskin seat. Those things look like someone scooped up some road kill to take home for dinner!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: Any way welcome and:congrats

The front seat comes off without removing panels. Remove rear seat by pushing in key and turning toward the wrench. Then remove the two 10mm bolts under the rear of the front seat and lift off. (be careful you don't lose the washers)

Darn, that doesn't make it easy to remove in case of rain. I was hoping to get one on my F3 before our next trip. It was pretty sweaty riding home from Pitbull without one
The point I was trying to make was that using the seat as a locking point is too time consuming. Anything that takes minutes and not seconds would not be used to secure anything (laziness). If you get off your ride and wish to secure your pad and need to take out a socket wrench to secure it you will not. Sheepskin gets nasty real fast from moisture, rain, butt perspiration and it also collect dirt. Its comfy for a short time then hold your nose and feel the comfort fade fast. This is the main reason for the need to remove, wash and secure sheepskin. My thoughts.

I would think it wouldn't be hard to make a strap that stays underneath the seat and has some velcro or other fasteners on each side.

The AK Leather versions come with quick attach straps. I have not found a need for the straps. When I used them, I just put them on the seat and sat on them. No sliding around or falling off. When I parked, they just went into a saddle bag or the frunk. :yes:
