• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Having trouble with drive belt, I have adjusted it to specs but I get a bad vibration (really bad)when I accelerate, so then I tighten it some, with little vibration but I get a whirring or whining noise, I have a 2013 RT with 26500 klms. Anybody have this problem before, Any suggestions?

Didn't Lamont do a video about belt adjustment? :dontknow:
Good Luck; please let us know how you find the "Sweet Spot"!

belt tensioner

From all I've read and the mechanics with whom I've spoken say that the 40 inch long drive belt does vibrate at certain speeds and upon acceleration. My 2014 RT belt vibrates when I'm in 6th, at speed (say plus 50) and I accelerate. It also vibrates pretty good between 74 and 84 or so. I am a bit early commenting as the first of July, I'm having a belt tensioner from http://www.smoothspyder.com/belt-tensioners/ installed. I'm told one could do it yourself but I'm also having a Bajaronk anti-sway bar installed so it'll be a twofer. More or less. I'll post after I ride a goodly distance and let you know. I too hate that feel and noise. Makes me think something is wrong with the bike but it's just that belt. If you adjust to specs, you'll do no harm to the bike. If you over adjust one way or another, you might be setting yourself up for some maintenance issues down the road. If it is to specs and it vibrates, learn to love it. It is not harming. Over tighten or loose is not good.

Little checking..!!

just posted about my vibration problem. 28,000miles and the front sproket is not what it used to be. Check the torque on the front sproket. The vibration from this is more a buzzing type around the foot pegs. If your vibration is in the rear seat area it is usually the belt. If all else fails get the dealer to do it then check it with the krikit to have a baseline. Double check the alignment as well.

When you re-adjust your belt give it some miles to settle in. You may get some initial vibration but it MAY go away or dissipate after some miles.

I beleave the manual suggests applying a small dab of grease to the belt. This will allow it to disengage from the cogs easier, reducing the induced belt vibration. This practice should prolong belt and sprocket life.

I believe this is what your talking about?
It's not for vibration but to resolve belt squeak.
