• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am about to purchase my first Spyder (RS). With all the chatter good, not good.
I would like feedback from all of you. Are you happy?

Its all in ones perspective

Knowing, going in that this was a brand new to market vehicle unlike non-other on the road, I went in knowing there were bound to be some issues, & issues there were. But I wouldn't trade the past year & a half of SpYder Ownership and the Awesome Adventures we've shared for anything. Its just not the machine your buying, but also an Extended Family (SpYderLovers) like no other in the world. We've had many great Adventures with our SpYder, but the friends you make while SpYdering are PRICELESS. IMHO:thumbup:

We got our 2009 RS SE5 in November 2009 and had 11K+ miles of "no issues" ryding until August 2011 when we got the 2011 RT Ltd. Go for it.:2thumbs:

We bought our RT in May 2010, without any major problems, then bought our RS that I now ryde in May 2011. the RT has 24 K and the RS is 3.5 K We love them. Not saying you don't have your bad days but nothing major.
Like CyncySpyder said. But the friends we made while spydering is priceless. Hope your able to make it to Cuba Mo in april and If you do you will understand what we are talking about. Good luck keep us posted

Have I had some problems? Yes. Most self-inflicted. :opps:

I knew going in I was an "early adopter". I knew the risk that I'd have some headaches with the machine. I've had far fewer headaches than some.

But the bottom line is this: NO REGRETS. That's not rationalization-- that's the truth. I have waaaay too much fun on this thing to regret a second of it! :D

I guess it is sort of like riding old Brit bikes. Yes, there can be issues, but we love ours just the same...maybe even more for the quirks. I am as hopelessly hooked on the Spyders as I am on my old Triumph Bonneville. In four seasons, Nancy's Spyder has had a few little problems, but nothing recentl and nothing major. She wouldn't trade it for the world! I have had two RTs. The first had numerous issues, but never let me down once, even on long trips. The second has had a few things, too, but it has never been in the shop more than a day, and it runs like a top. It has done 9K+ in six months. As a result, I haven't had my BMW out of the garage all year. I'd say that indicates happiness. When you have a whole building full of bikes, and repeatedly choose only the Spyder, you must certainly be be happy!

Bought the RT in Nov 2010, wife gradually started to like it to the points of "want to know how to use it" to "I want my own". She bought an RS-S in April this year and loves it!:2thumbs:

17,000 miles since April of 2009 and the Spyder has never left me stranded on the side of the road. Only repairs were the oil sending unit and O2 sensor, and neither of those sidelined the spyder.

Any of my other issues were introduced by myself through tinkering. ;)

I am concerned about BRP's customer service and quality of it's dealer network, but I chalk a portion of those issues up to growing pains on their part. I don't think they expected to be this wildly successful with the Spyder platform during a period of economic downturn as they have.

The next design of the RS will be what dictates whether I go back to two wheels or not, or just keep my current Spyder longer.

I bought a 2008 GS-SE5 new and had a few issues early on, but they were resolved on BRP's dime. Since then, many miles of trouble-free riding. And when Spyder riders meet, it seems instant friendships happen, which is something I did not see as much on the other makes I have owned.

Happy owner

Still puts a smile on my face after 16k :2thumbs: no problems just as well because there are no dealers here in Ireland my nearest dealer is 600 miles away + a 3.5 hour ferry trip
