There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Armrest For RT

I'm thinking about buying Armrest for my RT. Who has the better Armrest Corbin or Diamond R. If anyone has either one can you let me know how like it?:f_spider:

armrest

bought the Corbin at wifes insistence, not used to riding pillion she prefers the sidecar. Right one had frayed and split by the time we got back from Co in June. Had to send it back to Corbin to get it fixed which meant I had to do it twice to get it fixed right. Really wish the diamond Rs had been available then, they look a lot easier to install and can be removed with no hassle. Corbin customer service was really lacking as well. they could have at least thrown in a cup holder for our troubles. but offered nothing. Reading about Mike Corbin in this months BMWMOA ON is interesting, but not the least inclined to purchase another Corbin product after this experience. :banghead:

As said before, it's going to be a personal preference.................having said that, I have Corbins on our RT Ltd. and Linda says they are the best mod that we have!:2thumbs: Without them, we wouldn't have been going on the 3K - 4K trips. My suggestion would be to have your wife find people with each installed and ask to take a "test sit" before making the final decision!

Arm Rests

My wife did a "test sit" on another couples RT and immediately said I should get the Corbin arm rests for her.
She likes them and the installation was simple, but took some time to install.:)

Diamond R! :2thumbs:
There is a bit of adjustment available in the positioning of them...
They install pretty darn easy...
They look great!
They pivot out of the way for easier ingress/egress...

We have the Diamond R's and my wife loves them. They are adjustable, they move when she needs to move them, they look great, and they can tuck away or be removed when not in use.

On a side note, great company to work with, excellent people, and solid product designs.

I have never owned a Corbin product, for full disclosure.

My wife, Cindy, preferred the Corbin. Although she did not physically see the Diamond R., she opted for Corbin. She loved it. I've ordered the complete Corbin package for my soon to be RT-S.

As was said though each has their own preference. With all these responses it seems to be flip a coin.

Corbin

I have the corbin's installed on mine. Wife is not really happy with them. She is 5'7" and thinks they are a little to high for her. She also does not like how she has to tuck her arms inside them to get to the heated handgrips or when I decide the spyder is a Maserati and and I need to prove it to her. We will be checking out the Diamond R's as soon as we find someone with them on theirs so she can try them. Either one is better than none, like others have said, if you can have her sit test them.

Corbin

My wife sat on an RT with Corbin armrests at Maggie Valley a couple of years ago. Loved them and now have them. I installed them myself, took some time but wasn't hard. We've had them installed now and traveled over 10,000 miles and no problems so far. Getting on and off is no problem as they just don't get in her way. I am sure you would be good with either brand of arm rest.

I'm another one who bought the entire Corbin set for the RT, and will be removing the arm rests - wife is just short enough that they're just too high for her to be comfortable, and they interfere with her easily getting to the grip bars, too.
I'll probably be taking them off sometime soon, and putting the factory ones back on. Planning on putting the Diamond R set on come SpyderFest, since they're adjustable.

Diamond R was right for us

We got the Diamond R's as our first mod. Super easy install, would be equally easy to remove. Swing out of the way getting on and off and fold together out of the way when riding 1 up. Wife loves them for long rides. Never have tried the Corbin, assume they would be OK.
