• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Are we ALL old folks riding Spyders?

Bought my Spyder at 48, but still ryde sport bikes. You are only as old as you feel, or as old as the cute waitress at the bar thinks you are.
As George Burns once said - "You are only as old as the Girls you feel"

Always liked that Quote

I definitely qualify.

I am a young 69 headed soundly to 70 and God willing many more. Just bought my Spyder RT..pick it up on the 25th. Was loosing my confidence on the two-wheeler, but sure didn't want to give up my love of riding. I sure would not understand an age mindset. But I do understand the attraction of the Spyder. :2thumbs:

Picked up my 2008 RS SM5 last August at the ripe old age of 47. Last time I was in the shop (600 mi check-up) I came out to get the bike and a very cute lady EMT was looking it over. She asked a few questions about it and then she said it: "My dad's been wanting one of these."

I drove home with the left blinker on all the way.

Thanks for the laugh!
Am 58 BTW.

:ohyea:

Got mine at 66...hope to be ryding it 'til I'm 100 though some days I think I'm already there. But as long as I'm looking at blades of grass and not the roots, I'm okay

43 here. Thought my days of riding were long gone after 7 knee surgeries, but then along came the Spyder and changed all that. :2thumbs:

Boomers Rock!

I've had my :spyder2: for a little over a month. I'm screaming into 50 on 3 wheels at 90 mph! Kids are grown and it's OUR turn! Oh, and 50 is not the new 30. 50 is 50 and I'm proud of it! ;)

Lots of diffrent opions, here on this one I'm younger 31 have been messing with spyders since I was 29. I do agree price is the one thing that keeps them out of reach of my generation, but there is starting to be a lot of used ones out there so this will help get them i more hands, I really don't think it fair to consider them for old people......I here alot of no spyder people say......when I get to old to hold my bike up then I'll look at a spyder...........I think this is because of the whole trike thing. People are two close minded to open there eyes and see some times, that its not because you can't hold a 2 wheeler up, Its because you enjoy the freedom that a spyder bring...stopping faster, handle just kinda takes away some of the bs with a two wheeler. I have A vengence chopper, and a showroom full of spyders, Given the choice to only be able to ryde one.....Hands down syder, just for the fun factor. With my chopper and i do add i love my chopper, wanted one for 15 years but in all honesty I truly enjoy ryding spyders the most!!!!!! New project for me combinding the 2.....look for it this winter. But for all the people who have never ridden a spyder open your eyes and mind.....theres a whole lot more to theses things then what you think!!!!

I am a young 62, not even thinking of retirement at this point, although ryding my spyder is making me re-think that with every ryde. :2thumbs:

Those are very good points as well. Last September I rode to Maggie Valley with 13 other bikes to the Thunder in the Valley event. I was the only Spyder in the group, and in fact I only saw 1 other Spyder the entire weekend and it was on a trailer heading out of town. On the way up there we took the mountain roads instead of the interstate. I saw some beautiful waterfalls, rock ledges, animals, and other scenery. When we would stop I asked everyone else if they saw any of those things. Their response was they were too busy concentrating on getting through the turns to see anything like that. I was actually having to brake in the center of the turns, where you never would on a 2 wheeler, in order to keep from running them over. :D That is the type of enjoyment the Spyder brings, you still need to pay attention but you have the ability to notice even more things around you on the open road.

My father in law bought a Suzuki M109R2 about 2 weeks after I bought my Spyder, and he has stated on at least 3 occasions he should have bought a Spyder instead.

57 here been ryding :spyder2: for 2 years, NEVER HAD SO MUCH FUN IN ALL MY LIFE :2thumbs:
