There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Are these Givi V35 Bags

I may have gotten really lucky here in this find. Seems a friend of a friend who lost her husband is selling his Motorcycle stuff. She has set of these bags for sale. My question is are these the V35 bags that are available for the Spyder RS? I am getting a 2014 and want bags for it. If these works then I only have to buy the brackets.

Looks like a great deal, maybe you can make them fit even if they aren't the exact same model for the Spyder. I looked at their website but they don't show anything specifically for the Spyder.

I was afraid of that. I have been internet searching tonight and can't find them. Even went to the GIVI page and nothing. Checked ebay my favorite store and nothing.
Any suggestions?

I have a BRP R-35 set (which fits RS and ST 2015 and prior) and are interchangeable with the Givi V-35 bags that I took from a 2009 and installed on a 2013 RS SM5. So now all you need is to find a fitment rack/system. Trouble is it is quite hard to find the rack.

Any suggestions?

I bought the racks for the V35 some time ago and according to my invoice the part number for them is PLX770.

I had trouble finding these directly on the Givi site but you can track them down via various supplier sites (a Google on PLX770 should find you some examples)

They cost me NZ$299 and as we normally pay more than you do for stuff I'd guess that would be around US$200-250 over there.

Just some added info. There are 2 styles of mounts for the GIVI V35 bags on the GS/RS.

There is Can am factory style mount that comes with the optional saddle bag kit, that you buy from Can am. On that style of mount, the turn signal lights are relocated buy an extension assembly that also acts as a mounting point. The other 2 frame mounting points are extra hardware installed under the tupperware. With this system there is a special tool that removes the mounting frames from the bike with 3 twist lock fasteners. Made it very easy to remove for cleaning or service.

There was a different mount type supplied directly by GIVI. It relocated the turn signal lights to the rear fender. The mounting frame was bolted directly to various points on the Spyder. There was no quick removal feature.

PLX-770

Yes the PLX-770 was designed by Givi to fit the V35 to the Spyder,
Can Am designed their own mounting system when they decided to make them optional equipment.

From Italy but will ship to USA.

I have the instructions PDF with pictures if it is needed.

Yes I would like the the instructions PDF. That would be great. Is there a body change from 2012 to 2014. I find them in the 2012 and only one in the 2014.

Lots of suggestions and now I am confused. I found some at this website. http://powersports-luggage.legacymb.com/givi-side-case-hardware-for-v35-side-hard-cases-plx770/
Can I assume that that these will fit. I hate when I order something and have to return because I ordered wrong.

Firstly yes those will fit an RS. Ignore the photo at the top of that page as they have stuck the wrong one on it.

To try and clear up some of the confusion (and hopefully not make it worse:-)

Option 1 - Givi PLX770's
  • Made by Givi to fit the V35 hard cases to a RS/ST/GS
  • You have to relocate the indicators.
  • The brackets comes with the indicator relocation kit
  • Kit relocate the indicators onto the rear fender - needs extra wiring and can look a bit naff.
  • (I got mini-led indicators instead and mounted those to the rear fender.)
  • 3 normal bolts/nuts on each side to remove the brackets if needed.
  • Cheaper than the Can-am brackets*

Option 2 - Can-am Brackets

  • Made by Can-am to fit there own hard cases (which are the same as V35's) to a RS/ST/GS
  • You can use them with V35's as they have the same mounting system.
  • You have to relocate the indicators
  • The relocation kit can be sold as a separate item so you need to be careful when ordering to make sure you get both.
  • The kit relocate the indicators further back but still on the top part of the Spyder (i.e. not the rear fender)
  • 3 quick release bolts on each side to remove the brackets if needed.
  • More expensive than the Givi brackets*

* I'm not sure how much price difference there is in the US. Here the Can-am ones were 2 and 1/2 times more expensive which is why I went for the Givi ones. However the markup on anything Can-am here is ridiculous.

Picture of the Givi ones on my RS...and yes I know it needs a clean, it's winter here remember:-))

Thank you so much. I will order those then the PLX 770. Even at the cost it is still cheaper than buying from Can Am.
