• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are There Still People Out There Who Don't Think Helmets Are Necessary?

Thank you. It is a persons choice to be safe or not be safe. What some people feel is safe may not be what others feel is safe. I have received a lot of comments about being in full gear on 90 degree days, that is my choice, it is how I feel safe and I like my skin. The people in flip flops and shorts and a brain bowl, feel confident in their abilities and feel safe like that, who am I to judge or comment on it. Personal responsibility, I have an 8 and 14 year old waiting at home for me and they need their mom to come home safely.

PS.... I updated my avatar again to avoid the whole guy/girl thing.

Riding in a tank top in your new Avatar huh ??????? Your my kind of girl. :roflblack:

My wife and I will never ride again without a helmet on. I am typing this response from my bed in the hospital. I was wearing my helmet and distinctly remember the thud of my helmet hitting the pavement.

OH MY, are you OK? What happened? Is your wife OK?

After scooping my neighbor's brains up in a dust pan after he crashed in front of my house several years back and listening to the dreaded death rattle as I was holding him in my arms.....Yea, Helmets are a "GOOD" thing!

Thanks for the concern. Please look under Arkansas chapter "Ride of 16 June."

My right leg is broken up pretty badly with plates and lots of screw in the fibula near the ankle and tibia broken at the knee. 12 weeks of zero weight on the foot. It was an accident in the parking lot as we were just finishing the ryde. My wife driving with me as passenger. I was thrown off the Spyder and the rear wheel gqot my foot between the curb twisting and really mangling things inside. She hit the throttle instead of the brake and she panicked and forgot the kill switch. She has a few minor bruises, but her ego was hurt bad.

Bob, this thread went off the rails quite a while ago, and more than one dead horse has been beaten severly

Bob, this thread went off the rails quite a while ago, and more than one dead horse has been beaten severly

It's a REAL hot topic that brings emotions to the forefront and often gets folks riled up... :opps:

I'm just trying to get enough fingers in enough holes in the dike so that some of the water remains once everybody's done getting mad at one another...

Wow really, I hope Bob doesn't mind, but I feel the urge to quote him.

Can't we all just get along! :D

Obviously, the "bite me" wasn't directed at "Bytemi" ;)

I'm refuse to apologize though. I stand by my statement, and anyone who insults my family had better do it from the safe anonymity of the Internet...
