• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm thinking of getting a driver back rest and suggestions?

Also, I've seen Spyder Roadsters/sport with a trailer hitch on, but I can't find
out how they adapted it from the touring model. Suggestions, sites, dealers?
Thanks,

If you have the stock seat Utopia makes a really nice backrest that matches the passenger backrest for a RT. There are a lot of good reviews on it. Here is their web site: http://www.utpr.com/spyder.html They also have them for the RS.

The trailer hitch from the RT will fit without modification. The wiring harness that come with it will not, you would have to rig your own wiring. You cannot buy the hitch and wiring separately. There was a similar swingarm mounted hitch from Mels Monter Garage (MMG), which you might have mistaken for the BRP hitch. There are also some frame mounted hitches for the RS model out there, such as the one from Bushtec.

:welcome:

I know some owners that are very happy with the Bushtec hitch on their RS model Spyders. As for the driver's backrest, you will likely have to look at an after market seat like Corbin in order to get one of those for the RS. Best of luck in your search.

Utopia

go with the Utopia, good Quality, great price(as opposed to most accessories for a Spyder!!)

I just had Utopia build & install a backrest on my '09 RS with comfort seat and it looks like it came right from the factory. Excellent quality & great service. I decided to have them do the install for an extra $40 as I wasn't comfortable with tearing the seat apart & I didn't have the equipment to put it back together after the install. They do backrests for all seats on :spyder:'s and match fabrics and stitching really well. If you want good quality and decent pricing, go with Utopia!! :2thumbs: The only bad part was cost of shipping the complete seat to them and paying extra shipping for return when complete but for me it was worth it.
