"Appearance" mod almost done

Finished pics added.... "Appearance" mod almost done

Just wanted to share the progress of my latest "appearance" mod I guess you can say. I know some will see it as pointless maybe but I like it and the Spyder will get the same treatment to match it at a later date.

The only thing left to be done is the Y logo on the back of the spider, then clear and wet sand. Oh and before anyone asks, I am not nearly talented enough to do this. I have someone doing the artwork for me

Yeah my son wasn't too thrilled we he saw the pics :roflblack:

I knew it had to have a spider on it somehow so I figured a skull with a spider crawling out of a hole in it would go well together. The other option the artist presented to me was a clown face with a spider coming out of it's mouth. Sounded cool but figured I'd go with my own concept

Oh yeah, one thing I have always wondered about is how well can you see through the faceshield with it being painted like that? I heard they do something special with it, but have never attempted to look through one myself yet. :dontknow:

Hmmm, it may just be me, but I think that would require some facial reconstruction surgery for you.

The faceshield, well the part you look through anyway is actually not going to be painted. Just the little area down below for the nostril and a little above and the sides. If you look at the pic with the shield you can see he has paper over it to keep that area clear of paint. I sent him two shields for it. One tinted one for daytime riding and a clear one for night. The tinted one should look really well because the part that isn't painted would be dark. The clear one I am not sure if he is just going to leave the eye area clear or he also thought of putting a reflective film over it, the kind where you can see out but your eyes are not visible.

Thanks for the info. That makes perfect sense, and is something I have wondered about for a while. I would like some of that reflective film, as it sounds like a very cool idea.

The only other really cool helmet I have seen so far was one that was painted like the Incredible Hulk. However, he had 2 separate face shields. 1 that was tinted dark for riding like you are talking about, and the other that was painted for the shows. When it was closed th Hulk was glaring at you with bulging eyes.
