• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anything out there for the passenger grab handles?

The passenger grab handles on my 08 GS are starting to show some fading from age and the elements (sun, rain, etc.) Is there anyone out there that makes anything for it? What I am looking for is like a leather wrap of some sorts. I know there are care and cleaning products out there that might be able to restore it's luster and shine but I am also looking for passenger comfort. Maybe something like the grip buddies but for the grab handles instead of the handlebar grips :dontknow:

FWIW - most upholsterers could fashion something out of - leather or vinyl - with your choice of hand stitched or Velcro for installation.

Thanks for the link! I am going to try first to see if I can find someone (internet or locally) that sells or can make a nice leather wrap for it and if not, Randy's mod sure looks like it may work for what I am looking for.

Leather wrap. Look under bicycle handle bar wrap. Lots of styles an colors.

Holly was not to happy with the performance of this mod. Although that mod looks awesome, it was to thick for her hands and she didn't like it. I'm still looking for other ideas so post what you come up with.

Now that you mention it, I do remember that coming up later...think we might go check out the leather bicycle handlebar wrap that's been mentioned.

Go to your nearest leather store. Get some black latigo saddle strings and wrap to your hearts content.

I thought of that but I don't like the look of the overlapping much like what you get when you wrap a bike's handlebar. I want it to where it will lace up on the inside part of the handle, so basically it is one long and wide strip of leather without the overlapping. Still waiting to hear from the online place but in the meantime also found a place locally that does custom car interiors. They are willing to try and see what they can come up with.
