• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone with added aftermarket handlebars

This might have been asked before but I'm new to this site. I've seen risers but has anyone added a different type of handlebar to their RS? I've been looking at Spyders and the F3 is out of my price range but I've seen many RS models for sale a decent prices. I realize that the RS is more of the sportbike type. I was just looking for a seat that would hold you in place ,and handlebar that would make it more comfortable for longer distance and time in the saddle. Thanks for any info

While there do not appear to be any third party offerings, a number of forum participants, myself included, have swapped our RS handlebar covers for ST or RT covers. This works for the 2013 and forward model RS. In my case I installed RT covers. I would have preferred the ST option but I couldn't find any for sale (cheap). My objective was to take some weight off of my hands/wrists/arms and give me a more upright position so that I wasn't bending forward and raising my head up to see - eliminating strain on my neck and shoulders. The RT bars achieved this for me but had the unanticipated consequence of shifting the weight to my tail bone. So now I have purchased and am trying an Airhawk R Cushion to relieve this pressure but I am not sure that I like feeling a little "detached" from the seat. Some of the uneasiness is just getting used to a new riding position.

There are a lot of tradeoffs to be made. Now I am thinking about a BRP Comfort seat but I think I will give the Airhawk more time.

I hope that my comments will be of some help to you.

RISERS

:welcome:........Risers will cost you about $129.00...( Custom Dynamics - ESI or esay risers etc. )......Heli-bars about $ 350.00.......ST or RT handle-bars probably double the cost of Heli-bars....So those are your choices..............Don't even consider the OEM-BRP riser it will do nothing to fix your issue........Mike

This is what I did for a more comfortable ride.

Once you get the stock handle bar cover off you can get to the clamp that holds the handle bars. I put 7 inch bars without changing any cables on my 2010 RS. I then put 9 inch bars on but had change to longer throttle cables.

on the other spyder forum going back about five years there was a lot of discussion on handle bars.

sorry.....wrong pictures, don't show the right bars

Best seat bang for the buck

ST seats are pretty comfortable, and can be had cheap from other members. They are flat and cushy. Probably the best stock seat for a RS. It bolts right on .I liked mine a lot . You sink into it a bit. An st seat and ST or rt bars and you should be all set.

Ergonomics...

Here are some comparative diagrams for you...
